What kinds of jobs can I have with the work permit issued under IEC?

All kinds! It depends on what you want to do and how hard you want to look for employment. Many participants find work in the tourism and hospitality industries (restaurants, pubs, and hotels), where employers are willing to offer temporary work for shorter periods of time.
If you take part in either the Young Professionals or International Co-op Internship categories, you can also gain work experience in fields such as
  • science,
  • law,
  • health,
  • education,
  • commerce, and
  • communications.
You may need specific certification, education or training to work in these fields. You may also need specific clearances to meet local labour laws. Ask your employer about any requirements you may need to meet. You can also review the Job Bank for more information about requirements for certain jobs across Canada.
